Gewista and Gutenberg Werbering launch Digital City Lights in Linz

Mittwoch, 08. November 2017:

In the spring of 2014, Gewista launched – for the time being in Vienna – the development of Digital City Lights. At the first stage, the focus was placed on the seven largest U-Bahn stations in Vienna, with a further 18 stations only added recently. Beyond the U-Bahn, Digital City Lights were built in highly-frequented sites in top city locations in Vienna, Salzburg and Graz. Through a joint venture with Gutenberg Werbering – the „Digital out of Home Oberösterreich GmbH“– Linz just became another “digital” state capital.

The offering of Digital City Lights in Linz comprises two deluxe networks. Both networks have 13 screens (84 inches with 4K resolution) and present agents and advertisers with a great deal of playroom for creative configuration and presentation options in extremely wide-coverage locations. The 10 second, silent advertising messages run in 60 second loops and can be booked in a flexible manner. In addition, spontaneous special offers or target-orientated content can be controlled individually and also in exclusive configuration throughout all stations.

“The expansion of our Digital City Lights in the state capitals is progressing rapidly”, says Gewista CEO Franz Solta. We are delighted that we can now, with the development of Digital City Lights in Linz, offer advertisers an even bigger and wider coverage for the placement of their advertising messages. Following development in Vienna, Salzburg, Graz and, as of now, Linz the DOOH-network currently comprises 78 Digital City Lights. In the near future, the range will be expanded through development in further state capitals throughout Austria.

Klaus Luger, Mayor of Linz: “Digital City Lights represent a modern form of exterior advertising. As an innovative show case in the centre of Linz, they will serve to inform customers. These digital advertising spaces are a further step in presenting our state capital as an innovative Austrian city.”

Alfred Stadler MBA, Managing Director of Gutenberg-Werbering: “With Digital out of Home we are taking a further step in the qualitative expansion of exterior advertising in Linz. The new Digital City Lights are installed at the best locations in Linz city centre and guarantee the highest frequency of visitors in one of the most popular shopping streets in Austria. In close cooperation with town planners and those responsible for the city of Linz, we have managed to create, not only new advertising mediums, but to also integrate them uniformly within the cityscape. Already the Digital City Lights are perceived as a successful upgrading and a win-win situation for both the advertising industry and the city of Linz. They are another visible sign of the future city of Linz with its contemporary installations, such as the Ars Electronica Centre, the Museum of the Future, the Lentos Art Museum or the newly-renovated Linz University of the Arts”.
